Alamo Women's ClubScholarship Tea It is the end of the school year and May 26th was the Alamo Women's Club Scholarship Tea. The Scholarship Committee consisted of Loretta Lews, Anita Bowers and Jeanne Tate. This year there were more applicants then in any other year and the ladies were overwhelmed with the wonderful talent that was presented. Reviewing all the applications for consideration became a very time consuming job. Only two students are selected from San Ramon Valley, and two from Monte Vista High School. This year, the winners from Monte Vista High School were: Corinne Cooper – Music and Hong Kim – Music. The winners from San Ramon Valley High School were Paulina Alshuler –Music and Ariana Viera – Vocal Music. . Each of the students entertained the audience of Club Members, friends, teachers and councilors. A buffet lunch completed this lovely afternoon! The public is always invited to this free event, so please look for the date next year! A returning single mom from Diablo Valley College was also honored - Michelle Hong was the recipient. We continued our support of Del Amigo High School with a grant. Our next meeting will be the installation of the Alamo Women's Club board. Our Business Meeting is always on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, 12:00 at our clubhouse located at 1401 Danville Blvd. If you are interested in learning more about what we do please contact Anita at 837-1242.
